  Crowd-sourced OurBus announces expansion

OurBus, a tech company specializing in crowd-sourced intercity and commuter bus routes, is expanding to more than two dozen college towns across the U.S., targeting busy students who are looking for inexpensive and convenient travel options for visiting family, friends, and vacationing. To kick it off, OurBus is starting service from State College, Pa., to New York City.

Promotional fares will start at $25 each way.  "While serving both leisure travelers and commuters has been a priority for us over the last two years, we're eager to now expand our service to more college students, starting with State College, Pennsylvania, with additional service starting soon in Newark, Delaware, California, and Florida college towns," said Axel Hellman, co-founder, OurBus. "Many of these college communities lack convenient and budget-friendly transportation options to major metropolitan cities and towns."

  DC Trails adding 15 new Van Hool motorcoaches

DC Trails, a Washington D.C. charter and tour bus company, purchased 15 new Van Hool coaches from ABC Companies, including 14 2018 CX45 models and one 2018 TX with a two-door option.

Both the CX and TX models are ADA-equipped and include 110-volt outlets, Allison transmissions, six 15-inch monitors, aluminum wheels, and back-up cameras. The CX45 models, Tangerine Mist Metallic are powered by a Detroit engine. The TX model, metallic blue, is powered by a Cummins.

The company offers a unique combination of both line-run and charter services including tours and group transportation. It partners with many universities to fill its transportation needs, including American University, Georgetown University, and George Washington University to name a few. The TX model will be utilized for American University transportation in which DC Trails operates.

  School Bus Logistics Launches Online Portal for Routing

DENVER - School Bus Logistics LLC recently released RouteHub, a new online portal to communicate, store, and manage a school district's routing information.

The portal also serves as a communication tool between districts and their assigned route logistics specialist. Districts are able to add, change, and delete students in the portal, avoiding the process of faxing or mailing in request forms.

The portal is an additional feature in use with School Bus Logistics' Route Management Services, a turnkey routing solution for school districts. According to the company, the offering can eliminate inefficiencies, reduce overall routes, and increase savings.
