  MCI awarded Ga. state transportation contract for D4500, D45 CRT LE

Motor Coach Industries (MCI), a U.S. subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., was recently awarded a contract from the State of Georgia for its market leading commuter coaches. The contract permits authorized state and local Georgia public entitles including colleges and universities, as well as local government, municipalities, cities, townships, counties, and other political subdivisions in the state, to purchase the MCI D4500 and next-generation D45 CRT LE Commuter Coaches.


Motor Coach Industries (MCI), a U.S. subsidiary of NFI Group Inc., was recently awarded a contract from the State of Georgia for its market leading commuter coaches.

"MCI has a long history with the State of Georgia and welcomes the opportunity to have our best-selling D4500 and new, all-accessible D45 CRT LE as part of the Georgia contract," said Tom Wagner, MCI VP, public sector. "Georgia's arrangement is particularly innovative as a central purchase point for both in-state and out-of-state public entities, permitting agencies to efficiently and affordably acquire North America's most reliable commuter coaches."

  BYD delivers first 60-foot all-electric bus to IndyGo

IndyGo and BYD (Build Your Dreams) announced the delivery of the first K11 60-foot battery-electric bus to serve Indianapolis. The bus is the first of 13 ordered for the Red Line by IndyGo.

"BYD has delivered the first bus on time and this allows us to begin working with operations and emergency services on training and testing battery range," said Justin Stuehrenberg, VP, planning and capital projects, at IndyGo. "IndyGo is committed to our transition to an all-electric fleet over the next 15 years."


IndyGo and BYD (Build Your Dreams) announced the delivery of the first K11 60-foot battery-electric bus to serve Indianapolis. The bus is the first of 13 ordered for the Red Line by IndyGo.

This K11 will serve IndyGo's Red Line, a 13.1-mile route that runs between Broad Ripple on the north side of the city and the University of Indianapolis on the south side, offering more frequent service and longer hours than current routes. The Red Line is the densest corridor in terms of population and employment within Marion County.

  Video Shows Motorist Driving on Lawn to Pass School Bus

BALLWIN, Mo.  -  Video shows a motorist here driving onto the front lawn of a home in a residential neighborhood to get around a stopped school bus and a car that stopped for the bus.

On Wednesday at about 8:25 a.m., footage captured by a video camera on the side of the Parkway School District bus shows the bus slowing to a stop and its stop arm extending, with a red light flashing. One car stops for the bus. Then the car driving behind that car swerves to the right to bypass it and veers onto the lawn and sidewalk, passing a car parked on the street and the bus.

Parkway School District posted the video on its Facebook page and included a message saying that the neighborhood where the incident occurred is near Henry Elementary School. The message also asked for readers to contact the Ballwin Police Department with any information on the incident. The police department also posted the video on its Facebook page.
