   All-new Prevost H3-45 takes center stage at 2023 UMA EXPO

All eyes were on Prevost on Thursday as the company introduced its all-new, next-generation H3-45 during the 2023 UMA EXPO in Orlando, Florida. The redesigned H3-45 features a series of engineering advances that deliver improved fuel efficiency, an enhanced driver experience and ultimate comfort for passengers.

"The H3-45 is our flagship and has for the past two decades set the standard in the industry," said Prevost President François Tremblay. "We’ve re-engineered all aspects of the coach to create a best-in-class vehicle that is an obvious standout. The interior, which has been completely redesigned, was inspired by the automobile and aerospace industries. Everything we executed on the H3-45 we did with the user experience in mind."

The H3-45 made its public debut at the UMA Motorcoach EXPO on Thursday, Jan. 12, as part of a yearlong.......................................

The last book from industry legend William A. "Bill" Luke, "The Bus Ride of My Life", which is being published posthumously, is now available in limited quantities.

Luke was known by his peers as "the dean of the bus industry," before his passing in early 2022. He was a World War II veteran of Normandy Beach, entrepreneur, writer, author, publisher, and historian.

Luke, along with his wife Adelene, was an innovative force in the bus transportation industry through his company, Friendship Publications, BusRide Magazine, and the establishment of bus maintenance and bus safety forums critical to the integrity of the industry. He was inducted into the American Bus Transportation Association Hall of Fame in 1998 and has also authored over 15 books about the bus industry.

   First Student School Bus Driver Saves Choking Student

First Student school bus driver Paul Perry acted fast and saved a choking student while on board the school bus last month.

According to a Facebook post by West Seneca Central School District in New York, Perry realized that one of the West Elementary students on his bus was in distress. Another student on board, Aiden Brown, initially tried to assist fifth-grader John Margarone and alerted Perry to the incident. He pulled over, ran to the back of the bus, and performed the Heimlich maneuver. A gummy bear was then dislodged from the boy's throat.  According to the district's transportation web page students are advised to not eat or drink on the school bus.

"It happened fast. I was concerned about the student's emotional and physical state based on what he'd just been through, but he assured me he was okay," the Facebook post relayed from Perry.......................................
