MTRWESTERN has announced new branding for the Pacific Northwest ground transportation company. Jeremy Butzlaff, president of MTRWESTERN, said the changes reflect the strong reputation that the company has created over the past 20 years, as well as its commitment to safety, hospitality, client satisfaction and sustainability.

"As businesses evolve, it's essential to adapt and innovate to continually map to future goals and growth," Butzlaff said in a letter to employees and customers. "With this in mind, we embarked on a journey to redefine our brand identity, keeping our core values intact while reflecting the modern needs and preferences of our customers."

He said the new branding for the Seattle-based company reflects a commitment to being a beacon of safety, a symbol of reliability, and the standard for forward-thinking, sustainable motorcoach transportation..............................

  FTA Providing $20.5B to Support Transit, Boost Communities

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announced that $20.5 billion in federal funding is available to support public transportation in communities throughout the country. The investments will help people get to work, school, healthcare appointments, and other destinations via subways, light rail, buses, and ferry systems.

Programs Eligible for Funding
By allowing transit providers to move forward with applications for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 federal support, the funding will help communities:

* Expand, modernize, maintain, and operate public transportation systems.
* Upgrade stations, tracks, and maintenance facilities.

To begin the Thursday webinar, Steven Mentzer, senior EV principal consultant for First Consulting by First Student, reviewed how the Clean School Bus program (CSBP) infused the school bus industry with a hefty revenue stream for electric buses, but a key part of the puzzle was missing when districts began their electrification journeys.

"Most of the time and attention went to selecting a bus and a charger," he said. "It was like we just forgot about infrastructure."

First Student, North America’s largest school bus contractor, is no stranger to large-scale fleet electrification.
