FTA Announces $1.5 Billion in Funding to Modernize US Bus Fleets |

The US Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has announced a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for approximately 1.5 billion USD in grants aimed at supporting state and local efforts to modernize public bus services. This funding is allocated through two key programs: the Grants for Buses and Bus Facilities Program and the Low or No Emission (Low-No) Program.
The Grants for Buses and Bus Facilities Program provides financial assistance to public transit agencies for the purchase, rehabilitation, and replacement of buses and vans, as well as the construction and improvement of bus maintenance facilities.
The Low-No Program focuses on aiding agencies in acquiring or leasing US-built low- or no-emission vehicles, including necessary equipment and supporting infrastructure.
For Fiscal Year 2025, approximately $1.1 billion is authorized under the Low-No Program, with an additional

announced the delivery of six new 2025 J4500 coaches to GO Riteway Transportation Group.
The delivery continues a long-standing relationship between MCI and GO Riteway, one of the Midwest's largest, multi-service transportation providers. The new coaches are wrapped and ready for service across GO Riteway's growing network in Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan.

In addition to the state's Clean Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP), California has also awarded school districts $500 million to purchase zero-emission school buses and chargers.
The Zero-Emissions School Bus and Infrastructure (ZESBI) project selected 133 educational agencies to receive 1,000 zero-emission school buses and related charging infrastructure to school districts and other local educational entities. Statewide grants are expected to be finalized by the end of the year.
ZESBI is a program in collaboration between the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and the California Energy Commission (CEC), and is administered by CALSTART, a nonprofit clean transportation organization..........................................
