The American Bus Association (ABA) Foundation has released its 2025 Motorcoach Economic Impact Report, conducted by Tourism Economics. This report, for the first time, measures the full scope of the motorcoach industry — including both group travel and scheduled service — to capture the complete economic value of motorcoach travel in the US.
The expanded analysis revealed that motorcoach travel generated a total economic impact of $158 billion in 2024, supporting over 890,000 full- and part-time jobs across the U.S. economy and yielding $27.7 billion in taxes for federal, state, and local governments.

When Dennis King reacquired the 1999 Van Hool motorcoach he'd traded away years earlier, it wasn't the vehicle he remembered. The coach — affectionately known as The Black Pearl — was in rough shape, with a ruined water system and cracked pipes. Still, King saw potential and wasn't willing to give up on it.
He turned to John Cherry, who lived down the road in White Haven, Pennsylvania, where Cherry owns Evolution Custom Coach and Possible Dreams Fleet Services. He and King had been introduced by a longtime friend, Tony Mongiovi, regional sales manager of TEMSA North America.
King sent the coach down for what was supposed to be a simple water system repair. But once Cherry and King began talking, the repairs took a creative turn into a restoration that became a masterpiece. .....................

While public awareness campaigns about illegally passing stopped school buses increase nationwide, the National School Bus Loading and Unloading Survey finds that school buses and their drivers accounted for all the student fatalities reported for the 2024-2025 school year.
The 2024-2025 National School Bus Loading and Unloading Survey, released Sunday at the National State Director of Pupil Transportation Services conferences in Washington, D.C., reported that six fatalities occurred in five states, with Louisiana reporting two. Four states did not participate in the survey, the most non-responses since 2015.
Over 55 years, the annual survey conducted by the Kansas State Department of Education's School Transportation Safety Unit says school buses account for 56.5 percent of all reported fatalities, with other vehicles accounting for 39.2 percent and "other" 4.2%.........................................
