The NFI Group has announced the selection of Rob Marion as the new President of Motor Coach Industries (MCI). Rob, who began his role on 2 April 2026, will report directly to NFI’s President and Chief Executive Officer, John Sapp.
Having first joined New Flyer in 1994; Rob previously served as Vice President of Fabrication, and will replace NFI’s former President and CEO, Paul Soubry, who had served as interim President of MCI until his retirement in January 2026.
In 2020, NFI combined both New Flyer and MCI into one operating unit in an effort to streamline operations whilst strengthening engineering, supply and product development during a period in which MCI experienced lower market demand.....................

The luxury ground transportation industry is transitioning. Operators are dealing with rising insurance costs, increased competition and emerging technologies. Those are insights from Brett Barenholtz, president of the National Limousine Association, based on what he saw at the group’s annual 2026 CD/NLA Show last month in Las Vegas.
Barenholtz observed that member companies are juggling managing immediate financial strain while tracking developments that could change how the industry operates.
“If you have zero issues with insurance this year, you will still get a bill that is 20% higher with no claims,” said Barenholtz, CEO of Canton, Massachusetts-based Above All Transportation, Maine Limousine, Boston Car Service, and ETS International.

“Distracted driving is 100 percent preventable, yet too many people give the road far less than 100 percent of their attention,” National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Administrator Jonathan Morrison said during a press event April 1.
NHTSA officials kicked off National Distracted Driving Awareness Month and unveiled a renewed national enforcement and education effort aimed at curbing one of the most persistent dangers on U.S. roadways. Also speaking was Derek Barrs, administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA); Michael Paris, chief of Fairfield, Connecticut Police; and Patty Kruszewski, who lost her daughter in a distracted driving crash.
The agency is launching its enforcement campaign, “Put the Phone Away or Pay” April 9–13, pairing high-visibility law enforcement with a broad media push targeting drivers, particularly those ages 18 to 34. Officials say the goal is to...................
