  Minnesota Coaches acquires Spanier Bus, expands service in St. Cloud

Minnesota Coaches, a leading provider of school bus and motorcoach transportation, has acquired Spanier Bus Service Inc., a family-owned school bus company with nearly 70 years of service to the St. Cloud, Minnesota, community and school district.

The acquisition expands Minnesota Coaches' school transportation presence in Minnesota and Wisconsin, providing a stable foundation for Spanier to continue serving the 250-square-mile St. Cloud Area School District.

  Mary Presley Appointed Executive Director Of South Central Motorcoach Association

The South Central Motorcoach Association (SCMA) has announced the appointment of Mary Presley as its new Executive Director. In conjunction with this role, Presley will continue as president of M Presley Group LLC, an Association Management Company in the transportation and motorcoach industry.

"Presley brings over 15 years of management experience and a 25-year track record in the motorcoach industry," according to a press release. "Her journey in the transportation industry began as director of sales at a well-known family restaurant and inn, which laid a solid foundation for her career. She has demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and operational excellence throughout her tenure, making her an asset to SCMA and the broader industry."

"Mary's passion for the motorcoach industry and her commitment to excellence make her the perfect fit for this dual role," SCMA Board President Cary Martin said. A webinar gave advice on meeting community needs with school bus service while also making efficient operational decisions.

"We know back to school is behind us, but the heavy lifting is not over," said Tammy Cook, senior transportation advisor and board member of webinar sponsor Pathwise, during the Thursday presentation. The other panelists were Michael Roche, VP of customer engagement and business development for EZRouting, and Carl Allen, chief executive officer of 4MATIV, both of whom served as transportation directors for school districts.

Roche noted that a big challenge for school districts is bridging the gap between planned and actual ridership. He encouraged districts to use anything from manual headcounts to RFID card tracking to determine actual ridership numbers. Allen added that teachers and school staff can help by noting which buses seem emptier.......................................................
